In a disturbing and distressing piece of development, Atletico Madrid’s newest entrant, Moussa Dembele was witnessed fainting whilst partaking in a training session with the La Liga club.
Dembele’s Condition Sparks Panic
The footage which emerged showed the player losing his senses as he subsequently thudded to the ground. The striker was indulging in a stretching routine prior to losing consciousness as his counterparts rushed to his rescue.
Dembele was placed in the revival position by his peers before Atletico Madrid’s medial team took control of the situation. Dembele eventually managed to return to his senses and was able to depart the pitch unattended in what was a massive shot in the arm to his fitness.
While Atletico Madrid have not released an official statement on the set of events, people akin with the development have said that Dembele collapsed owing to low blood pressure. Medical reports conducted on the player ever since have come clear to give him a clean bill of health.
Dembele was also pictured leaving the stadium on his own as he drove away in his car.
Dembele was signed for a colossal 33.5 million euros by the La Liga side in January as a replacement for Diego Costa. However, he’s failed to settle into his groove at the new club with him yet to score or start for his new side ever since seeing a behemoth transfer.
COVID and injuries have both acted as bottlenecks to his life in Spain with Dembele seeing his playing time reduced to only four substitute appearances. The striker will be looking forward to settling at the club during the ongoing international break as he looks to spur his side towards the La Liga trophy.
Atletico Madrid are currently only four points clear at top spot in the league. The club has squandered a runaway lead to see both Barcelona and Real Madrid breath down its necks off late.
Dembele will be aspiring to emulate his form at Celtic for Atletico Madrid as well as the club scours for goal scoring options on the pitch.
