India were in a tough situation when MS Dhoni entered at the Lord’s India were chasing a 300 + total and the pitch was gradually slowing up.
It would not be easy for him to score freely. India had lost the wickets of openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma early. Although Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli have had a partnership, it was not going at the pace that it should have.

This left India in deep trouble. Virat Kohli failed to read straight one from Moeen Ali and was plum in front. He could have opted for the review but Kohli knew that he was straight in line within the wickets and there was no point wasting a review.
As Kohli walked off, Raina tried to have a partnership with MS Dhoni. However after playing a string of dot deliveries, Raina tried to hoik one over mid wicket. Although he also did not pick the googly from Adil Rashid, the ball hit his back pad and cannoned into the stumps.
When Dhoni entered the field, chants of Dhoni… Dhoni could be heard everywhere. It felt as if it was not Lord’s but he was playing somewhere in India. The crowd went berserk for the legend.
