Former Indian Captain has revealed the real reason behind why he stands at the side of ever team image, be it that of team India or the Chennai Super Kings.

Veteran keeper-batsman MS Dhoni is certainly one of the greatest cricketers that India has ever produced. But over and above that, he is also a great human being.

Mahi never likes to hog the limelight and always gives the youngsters their due. In a recent interview with TV host Jatin Sapru, Dhoni opened up about why he does not want to be the centre of attraction all the time.

When Sapru showed him a team image while CSK won the trophy this year and asked him, “Why do you always stand in the side?”  Dhoni had an interesting answer. Dhoni’s simple reply was, “First of all, you tell me isn’t it unfair that the captain goes to collect the trophy of a team sport ?

I always believe that when you go and collect the trophy, there is already over exposure. So there is an overexposure of 15 seconds and now there is no need to keep holding the trophy. As it is, there are so many youngsters want to celebrate. So it’s better that you give them the trophy and move towards the side.”

Dhoni also gave a cheeky take on the question. He said, “If you don’t win the trophy for too long, you may want to win another one” as the fans kept clapping and chuckling all along.
