MS Dhoni who is known to keep himself away from the media has finally revealed his brand value and relationship with TNCA President N.Srinivasan.
MS Dhoni has gone through the state of darkness when some part of the media channels claimed him to involved in the infamous spot-fixing scandal in IPL 2013 season.
There were several rumours speculating about MS Dhoni’s issue that raised many eyebrows in the cricket circle but the stalwart shrugged all such theories and stories.
In a book launched by Indian journalist Rajdeep Sardesai called ‘Democracy XI’, he revealed MS Dhoni’s kinship with N.Srinivasan.
“Let me tell you, it is an absolute lie that I told a probe panel that Meiyappan was only a cricket enthusiast, all I said is he had nothing to do with the team’s on-field cricketing decisions. I can’t even pronounce the word ‘enthusiast,’” MS Dhoni was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
MS Dhoni is least bothered what people say or think about him. He further added that he found N.Srinivasan as the useful mascot to help the players.
“I really don’t care what people say, I found Srinivasan as someone who was always there to help cricketers,” MS Dhoni said.
The former Indian Board President and current TNCA President, N.Srinivasan added that he rebuffed the idea of dropping him as captain in the wake of India’s rampaging outcomes at the hands of England and Australia overseas.
“Yes, it is true that I vetoed the decision to drop Dhoni as captain. How can you drop someone as captain within a year of his lifting the World Cup?”,Srinivasan signed off.
Sardesai wrote about Rhiti Sports a company organised by Dhoni’s former Bihar Ranji teammate and his manager Arun Pandey. MS Dhoni holds the largest part of stake in the company.
Three years ago, MS Dhoni was recognised as the fifth most valuable brand with his annual earnings claimed to worth at a whopping tag of $30 million and endorsements pegged at $26 million.
‘I have more than I will ever need for one life. All these investments are handled by Arun and others, I don’t have any role to play,’ Dhoni added.
