#2 Virgil Van Dijk and Kalidou Koulibaly showcased why they’re two best defenders in the current world

Kalidou Koulibaly and Virgil Van Dijk had a solid game. The Liverpool defender committed a mistake which lead to Napoli’s second goal of the night. But, his overall game was spectacular as he made plenty of interventions and won aerial duels for fun.

On the other hand, Senegalese International was a bulwark in the backline and deserved Man of the Match award for that extraordinary display. He stopped Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino from causing trouble to their backline by outmuscling or outpacing them at times. This will surely go as one of the best ever performances for Kalidou Koulibaly in his stay at Naples.

Until Liverpool conceded the penalty in the 81st minute, both defence showed great character to stay focussed and negate the threat from the opponents. The scoreline might not say the answer, but both the defence had a really good day.
