The shirt draws inspirations from the club’s 2003-04 season

Ever since Nike has taken over as Chelsea’s kit manufacturer, the club’s quality and design of kits has dwindled. Apart from a couple of enticing designs, the club’s colors have been usually drab and devoid of imagination ever since the club brought on Nike as its sponsor.

The 2020-21 kits in particular were a massive disappointment with all three of the club’s kits making for sore viewing. However, it looks like the club’s supporters are set to be in for a treat come the 2021-22 season.

With us having reached that period of the year when leaked kits are doing the rounds online, Chelsea haven’t been left behind. A white leaked of the club for the new season has been abuzz on Twitter across the last couple of days.

Chelsea’s Proposed Kit Revealed

While its still unclear if it will be the side’s second or third kit, Chelsea’s ardent supporters will be praying that the design is as envisaged in the leaks. Reminiscent of the club’s 2003-05 seasons, the club features hues of white and grey in the backdrop with a black and blue stripe vertically ingrained on the front.

Chelsea’s UK based telecom firm sponsors, 3 feature on the front side as well. The kit makes for alluring viewing, a piece which has left the club’s supporters enamoured with it.

Chelsea meanwhile are currently in the midst of a two week international break. The hiatus accorded to the club due to the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers gives new manager Thomas Tuchel the first real time to sit down with his club and partake in proper training sessions.

Despite only coming into the club in January, Tuchel has completely overhauled Chelsea’s modus operandi. Yet to lose a contest since taking over at Chelsea, Tuchel is unbeaten in his 13 matches with him most recent being a 2-0 win against Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

Tuchel also famously guided Chelsea to a Champions League quarter-final showdown with Porto after downing Atletico Madrid 2-0 at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.
