Earlier this year, 23XI Racing’s co-owner Denny Hamlin had mentioned the team’s upcoming headquarters being built in Huntersville. The total extended project, estimated to be somewhere around $16 Million, has been one of the most anticipated things to come up in recent years within the sport.

Recently, while speaking on his podcast, Hamlin provided an update regarding the construction progress of the major project. In his words, he believes that the scale and interiors of the property would easily rival any Formula 1 team’s headquarters.

Talking about the status of the project, Hamlin stated, “It’s coming together. They’re working. I think they’re probably a few weeks behind but now that it’s got a roof over it and they’re not going to be affected by rain. I think that they probably can make that time up pretty easily.”
“But I’m excited about it. I’m excited for people to see like, I mean, the interior is, is certainly very nice. I mean, it’s it will be in my opinion, it’s going to rival any F1 shop that you go to.”
He continued, “But I think the next year like you I know you see what you see. But there’s way more to it than you don’t see that will be coming together here shortly… I love design. I just designed my house here seven years ago.”
“Like I just kind of took little things from hotels that I visited all over the country and just like, ‘hey, I liked that pool, or I liked this sitting area’ and just took all those things and put it into, you know, into a house and so same thing with the shop. I just I really did a ton of research on design and tried to figure out how I liked things and yeah, it’s gonna be amazing when it’s done. And I know you see it and it looks like it’s years from being finished. But January 1, we’re operating out there. We’re building the cars there in January 1.”
The new extended project includes a hotel and commercial space
The $16 Million project does not only include the primary operations center for the Hamlin co-owned team. In fact, it seems that they have splurged into having several other amenities as well. As per an earlier report by the Sarver’s group, the build plan included plans for a 120-room capacity hotel.
Furthermore, 12,000 square feet of space for a commercial zone has also been planned. And if all of that was not enough the campus grounds will also have an estimated 300 apartments. The project seems to be developing at a rapid pace, and the race shop should be up and running by early next year, as per Hamlin. However, for the rest of the developments, reports are scarce, making it hard to put a timeline on the same. Although, judging by Hamlin’s enthusiasm, that should follow soon as well.
