NASCAR Ready to Fix What Dale Earnhardt Jr. Deemed Unfixable

In the past few weeks, Noah Gragson’s NASCAR career suffered a massive blow after first, he was suspended indefinitely by Legacy Motor Club, and then later, he got himself released from the team. This led to many wondering if Gragson’s career was over. But while this could be a very pessimistic way of looking at things, one can’t deny that his career has indeed taken a big blow. So what would he do now? Dale Earnhardt Jr. has some suggestions.

Junior, who was Gragson’s boss at JR Motorsports, recently explained the career trajectory Gragson should take. He also reasoned why Gragson should now focus on avenues that allow him to showcase his talent than avenues that promise him a bigger stature, or, in other words, anything except for the NASCAR Cup Series.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. opens up on where Noah Gragson can go now

Speaking in a recent episode of his podcast show, Earnhardt Jr. opened up on the places where Noah Gragson can take his talents and continue racing. He said, “I think that he could actually go into the Truck or the Xfinity Series. I would not try to get in a Cup car of any caliber. I don’t know what opportunities would even be available.”

“I think what would be good for him is to go back and get to the victory lane and rebuild his trust and his own confidence, his trust, image, and all those things.”

Earnhardt insisted that Gragson doesn’t have to start from scratch because he can just go to the Truck Series. In fact, he claimed that in the Truck Series, Gragson will have more opportunities to get in a winning team than getting in a “B Xfinity car” or “a 10th-place Xfinity car.”

“I think the Cup Series, if you’re not in a good car, I’ve been there when you’re running in the back, not running well. It’s the most miserable thing ever. Nothing’s good about it,” Earnhardt explained.

“I would just go where you can win. Let’s take a year and go be great somewhere and try to re-invent ourselves. That’s what I think will probably be best for him.”

Earnhardt suggests Gragson can go back to his roots

The Hall of Famer further opened up on what Gragson could do, apart from going back to the Truck Series. Earnhardt claimed the former JR Motorsports driver should go back to his roots. “Go drive some Super Late Model stuff, back home on the West Coast or at the Snowball Derby or an ASA Series, or even in Late Model Stocks,” he said.

“I think he could just get back to his roots, go back to where had the most fun, and fall back in love with the sport all over again.”

Earnhardt explained that having a second chance and having an appreciation for his comeback considering how tough it is to make it work and how hard it is to be successful at every level will do Gragson good, that he’d be better off for it in the end.
