There was a reason why Dale Earnhardt Jr. was, and continues to be, so popular in the NASCAR community and beyond. He was just so relatable. Because here iss a person, who despite being born into one of racing’s biggest dynasties, is at his core a very normal person. And that relatability, that sense of normality, reflects in his life at home. For instance, his pick of board games.

There are several of us who would prefer to indulge ourselves in the realm of a board game, mostly because of its entertaining and role-playing aspect. Perhaps also to connect better with the people around us instead of being trapped behind the invisible wall of the internet. Just like most of us, one of NASCAR’s most famous former drivers and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. enjoys similar things as well.

Recently, while speaking on his podcast show, the Dale Jr. Download, Junior revealed the details of his favorite board game.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. shares details regarding his favorite board game

During the Ask Junior segment, a fan had asked if Junior had a particular favorite when it came to board games and if he had a proper game night at his house. Subsequently, the former Hendrick Motorsports driver mentioned, “Monopoly by far… Man, I mean Monopoly is awesome.”

Speaking about the family game night aspect, he stated, “No, not yet. I’m sure that’s coming down the pipe, right Mike? As your kids get older… I mean, I play Candyland and things like that with Isla sometimes, but she’s not heavy into the board games. But we’ll do. She’ll see this and go, ‘Let’s play.’”

“But I am looking forward to Monopoly and some of those more sophisticated games once the kids get old enough. Trying to think about what other board games I enjoyed. That was pretty much the only one…”

Junior mentioned a childhood board game he used to really enjoy

Speaking further into the topic, Junior also explained how he really enjoyed playing this certain game known as ‘Clue.’ The main theme of the game revolved around the murder mystery genre and would often involve around three to six people.

Although, he confessed to not having played it for over 30 years.

Aside from that, it was Monopoly that reigned supreme for the former NASCAR driver. Perhaps he should consider involving his family in a proper game night sometime in the future. Who knows, he could possibly end up expanding the horizon on several other formats of board games.
