Upon interviewing him later, Jokic revealed his love for the game. He also talks about a couple of friends that he treats as his gaming buddies. This marks a very important connection between a two times MVP player and the gaming ecosystem.
This comes as crazy news for the gaming community seeing such a wonderful bond. Let us take a deep dive into this revelation and find out what actually went down during this interview.
Previous NBA player’s affiliations with video games
This is not the first time the NBA community has witnessed such a thing. Once a player in the same Los Angeles Lakers team as Kobe Bryant, Jeremy Lin made a revelation himself. In 2014, he was found playing Dota 2 after winning an NBA game. The Facebook post was made by none other than a Philipines-based Dota 2 community named Dota 2 Philippines.
The story progressed further as later in 2018, he bought a Dota 2 roster and renamed the organization to J.Storm. He extended his hands to improve the Dota 2 community by commandeering a team.
We said things are getting crazy.
New name, new team, new chapter in our org!

In the current interview, Jokic was asked what video games he likes to play and who is his gaming buddy. In reply, he reveals that League of Legends is what he loves to play during his free time. And his gaming buddies consist of his childhood friend whom he grew up with. And, Jokic simply says the other guy is about two or three older than them.
While NBA and video games have existed parallelly in most cases, these unions every now and then bring sudden joys. It is huge news that yet another NBA star has been a long-time member of the gaming community.
