The NBA is a league full of talented individuals. Not only are they talented basketball players, but each one of them has their own talent as well. Earlier, we used to see stars like Shaquille O’Neal wait for the offseason to showcase their talent, but things are different now. With the rise of social and digital media, we’re seeing the stars like Damian Lillard push out their content as they record it. This led Kevin Garnett to share a wild idea on his podcast, which actually sat right with Shaq as well.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen NBA players expressing their talents through various methods. Many of them have started their own podcasts, whereas some have their own rap songs, or even albums.
Having a rap battle during the All-Star weekend? That would be pretty fun to watch.
Shaquille O’Neal shares Kevin Garnett’s idea of a rap battle on his IG story
Shaquille O’Neal is a man of many talents. One of them is rapping. Early in his career, Shaq used to rap a lot, taking out four albums between 1993 to 1998. One of those albums(Shaq Diesel) went platinum. Another album(Shaq Fu: Da Return) was certified Gold by RIAA. Even though he’s switched to being DJ Diesel, Shaq still loves to stay connected to rap.
Recently Kevin Garnett shared an idea for a rap-battle for the NBA players during the All-Star Weekend on his podcast KG Unfiltered.
Shaq saw the same in the form of a post on Instagram(via Basketball Forever).

While this sure would add to the entertainment value, fans don’t feel like it would be a smooth affair.
Which NBA players can possibly compete in this rap battle?
The first name that comes to mind is obviously Damian Lillard. The Blazers legend has four studio albums to his name, and we recently also saw a freestyle when the Blazers got caught in a blizzard.
Other possible names on the list can be Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Aaron Gordon, and more. While it seems like a fun idea, it’ll most likely be a tough pass by the NBA front office.
