16 Months After Settling ‘Michael Jordan vs Tom Brady’ GOAT Debate, Shaquille O’Neal Shares 8-Year-Old Clip of Them Playing 3-on-3
Michael Jordan and Tom Brady have solidified themselves as arguably the greatest players in their respective sports. With both the superstars being ultimate winners, they once shared the basketball court together. What seemed like a vacation in the Bahamas witnessed MJ and TB12 playing 3-on-3 pickup basketball. The clip from eight years ago recently resurfaced on social media and Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t help but share it with his 31 million followers.
Jordan racked up quite an illustrious resume over the course of his iconic career–five NBA MVPs, six Championships, six Finals MVPs, and 10 scoring titles. Whereas, widely considered to be the most successful player in NFL history, Brady’s trophy cabinet includes 15 Pro Bowl appearances, seven Super Bowl Championships, five Super Bowl MVPs, and three NFL MVPs.
Now, irrespective of the sport, fans love to have endless conversations about the greatest player of all time. While it is nearly impossible to compare the careers of athletes across different sports, fans often tend to regard either Jordan or Brady as the GOAT of sports in general. However, Shaq called out such fans when he revealed his opinion on the Jordan-Brady GOAT debate 16 months ago. As it turns out, the Diesel doesn’t like comparisons between athletes from different sports.

Eight years ago, the two American sporting legends would leave social media in a frenzy after they were caught hooping together. As seen in the video posted by @ESPN, the then-52-year-old and the 6-foot-4 NFL Quarterback were seamlessly knocking down jump shots on a windy court. It was so great to see the Bulls legend flawlessly use his iconic midrange fadeaway to get buckets years after his retirement.

Luckily, the two superstars were on the same team. Had they been on opposing sides, being the fierce competitors that they are, the fun pickup game would soon have turned into a ruthless battle between the two.
Brady regarded MJ as the “Real GOAT”
While the two legends’ careers have been analyzed excessively, Brady once regarded Jordan as the GOAT. When the two met at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix last year, Brady shared a clip of him meeting Michael Jordan on the grid. Dishing out praises to the NBA Hall-Of-Famer, the 23-year football veteran captioned the post as “The Real GOAT”.
It’s heartwarming to see such distinguished personalities share so much respect and love for each other. After Brady’s retirement from football, fans expect more fun pickup games from the two retired legends.
