$160,000,000 Worth Chris Paul Reminiscences Parents’ Humble Beginnings Days After Teaming Up With Stephen Curry: “Worked on an Assembly Line”
Although an accomplished basketball player, Chris Paul has always been rooted in his humble beginnings. Even though the 2021 NBA Finals left him quite disheartened, CP3 decided to pick himself up and work his way for another possible try. Perhaps, joining the Golden State Warriors in the upcoming season alongside Stephen Curry might help fulfill his aspirations. In a recent appearance on Rich Roll’s podcast, just days after teaming up with the Warriors star, Paul reflected on his career achievements and everything that makes him the player he is today. He also remembered the hardships of his upbringing and how the now $ 160,000,000-worth star charted a path to the NBA.
The former Phoenix Suns star might be eluded from an NBA title. However, when it comes to performing in the All-Star games, CP3 has always stepped up to his game. He was also selected 12 times in the NBA All-Star team and was the 2013 All-Stars MVP. Paul’s prowess as a point guard helped him carry the Suns through the 2021 playoffs to the Finals.
Chris Paul reminisces about his humble beginnings ahead of joining the Golden State Warriors
Chris Paul is, by all means, a rich athlete. His net worth, made of several investments, and his NBA salary is estimated to be worth $160,000,000. For a star who has found so much success and acclaim, he is still connected and aware of his beginnings as he revealed in a recent podcast.
In Rich Roll’s podcast, Paul reminisces all the moments that brought him to the current stage. CP3 is a North Carolina native, with his father, Charles Paul Sr., inculcating a liking for basketball in him. He spent his days growing up working at his grandfather’s service station. From this experience, Paul has drawn crucial life experiences and values he holds today.
“My grandfather used to own a service station. I used to be there working, like changing oil, rotating tires. My dad worked on an assembly line, my mom worked at a bank. And I’m not sure, I don’t think my mom was like a little kid, and someone asked what she wanted to do, and she was like ‘Oh, I want work for the Wachovia bank,’ right? So, I wanted to be a basketball player, I get to be a basketball player. So, why not work hard and do all these different type of stuff.”
Chris Paul is currently 38 years and is still aspiring for his first title. His above statements prove his relentless drive to work hard, even near the nominal retirement age. Besides this, CP3 is excited to join his former All-Star teammate Steph Curry at the Lakers. When asked about his feeling regarding his new move, he said he was “really excited” to start next season alongside Curry. Draymond Green says that CP3’s arrival might give the Warriors’ youngsters and young prodigies a rejuvenated boost.
CP3 might even help the Golden State Warriors win their fifth championship
It’s perhaps now or never for Chris Paul to get his first ring. The 2021 Finals loss against Milwaukee was tantalizing for the ‘Point God.’ The epic team-up between CP3 and the Splash brothers is something the fans eagerly look forward to. Perhaps, the Warriors could make a run for the championship with such firepower on their roster.
Chris Paul knows the tantalizing feeling of letting the NBA title slip off his hands. The 2021 loss was disheartening but has fueled his new drive. This drive might help the Warriors pursue a serious title-contending campaign in the 2023-24 season.
