25-year-old LeBron James Once Dropped 48 on his Birthday, Trails Only Shaquille O'Neal and Dominque Wilkins on This "Special" List

LeBron James is currently in the midst of his 20th season in the NBA. Playing with the Lakers, The King is still dominating the league despite just turning 38. Yes, LeBron is 38 and he will be playing the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

The perfect chance for him to grab a much-needed win for LA on his birthday.

A win would be a heck of a gift for The King, but one that he is all too familiar with. After all, it was 13 years ago that he dropped a massive 48 points on the Hawks on what happened to be his 25th birthday.

LeBron James had one of the best games on his 25th birthday, one that is only behind Shaq and Dominique Wilkins in terms of birthday performances

On December 30th, 2009 a young LeBron James celebrated his 25th birthday in fashion against the Atlanta Hawks. In what was a heck of a game, The King dropped 48 points and 10 rebounds.

It was a historic match. After all, in terms of birthday performances, this one only trails that of Shaquille O’Neal and Dominique Wilkins who scored 61 points and 53 points respectively.

It certainly is an exclusive list he is a part of. One that LeBron may try to get higher up on tonight on his 38th birthday.

After all, The King is preparing his forces to take on the Hawks. The same team he had his 48-point birthday special against. Could history repeat itself?

King James will be hoping the Lakers get a much-needed win on his birthday

The Lakers are preparing to take on the Hawks in what has been yet another below-average season for them. However, a win tonight could go a long way in making a push for the play-in tournament at least. With this in mind, LeBron James will be hoping they secure the win on his 38th birthday.

It will be an interesting match, to say the least. Especially considering that James is questionable. Hopefully, the Lakers turn up and get the win in Atlanta.
