"A P*rno Star? No, It's Meryl Streep!": Dennis Rodman Described His First Encounter With Hollywood Legend During 1996 NBA Finals

Dennis Rodman started his NBA journey with the Detroit Pistons. He was a 2x NBA Champion before he left Motor City and moved ahead in his career. On the court, Rodman was known for his tough defense and his mastery at rebounding. However, since leaving Detriot, Dennis didn’t quite feel the same. Sure, he put up the numbers, but his impact didn’t quite feel the same,

When he made his way to the Bulls, Rodman found a way to revive his career. Playing along with the game’s biggest star, Michael Jordan, Rodman won three championships in three years, something the Pistons failed to do.

However, Rodman was even more famous for his antics off the court. One of those involved a time with Meryl Streep.

Dennis Rodman thought Meryl Streep was a p*rnstar

In 1996, the Chicago Bulls made their way to the Finals, where they faced off against the Seattle Supersonics. When the team was in Seattle, Rodman learned that a fan was eager to meet him at the hotel where he was staying.

In his book, “Walk on the Wild Side,” Rodman narrated the incident.

“One night in our hotel bar in Seattle, some blond woman who seemed to have a buzz on came over and said she wanted to meet me. She seemed totally excited, almost like she was checking me out. “I really admire your work,” she told me. She said that she loved the way I carry myself and assert my individuality. 1 turned away and asked one of my friends who she was. “She’s an actress,” my friend said. A PORNO STAR? “No,” he said, “it’s Meryl Streep.”

Apparently, Streep was a big fan of Rodman’s work and couldn’t stop complimenting him the entire night.

“Meryl went on complimenting me for an hour. She was a really nice lady. “I liked you in Death Becomes Her,” I told her. I didn’t even know what other movies she’d been in. There was really nothing else I could say, so I just sat there and listened to her tell me how fabulous I am and how much she loves the way I act.”

On the contrary, Dennis only knew one movie of hers. I’m sure that would have changed after their encounter in Seattle.

Rodman was once married to Carmen Electra for nine days!

In 1998, Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra met during a wild encounter at a nightclub. The couple dated for a few months and were so heads-over-heels for each other that they tied the knot on November 14, 1998, in Las Vegas.

However, after just nine days of marriage, Rodman filed for an annulment. Even after the announcement, the two were often spotted together and were married for a bit. After six months, the duo mutually decided to file for divorce and that was the end of their chapter together.
