Skip Bayless launched yet another contentious shot at LeBron James, comparing him to Aaron Rodgers despite his 46-point outing last night.

The Packers legend was outdone by Tom Brady’s almost-perfect first half in the Conference Championship game. Rodgers finished with 33 pass completions on 48 attempts and was sacked five times. The Packers staged a spirited comeback in the second half, but it was too little, too late.
LeBron James, on the other hand, torched his hometown team to the tune of 46 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists last night. James’s Lakers teammates were mostly deadweight on the night. This was the first time this season that James has truly put them on his back. It serves as a reminder that even at 36, James is truly the best player in the world when playing fully engaged.
Skip Bayless calls LeBron James the Aaron Rodgers of the NBA
Even for a fine LeBron outing like this, Skip found room to squeeze in shots at his favorite punching bags – albeit with pathetic grammar this time: “Aaron Rodgers is LeBron is Aaron Rodgers is LeBron.”
Aaron Rodgers is LeBron is Aaron Rodgers is LeBron.

LEBRON, BACK IN THE HOUSE THAT HE BUILT, WHERE HE WON (AND LOST) SO MANY PLAYOFF GAMES, PLAYED INSPIRED TONIGHT IN CLEVELAND, CAUGHT A RARE HOT STREAK FROM THREE, HAD A HUGE 4TH QUARTER AND HELD OFF WHAT’S LEFT OF HIS “HOMETOWN” TEAM. CROWN HIM!

With all due respect to Aaron Rodgers, LeBron is an entirely different beast. At worst, James is a top-3 basketball player of all time no matter how you slice it – as of today. The two have dominated their game statistically – James is the most consistent all-time great of the sport. Aaron Rodgers has also displayed a similar level, but is glaringly short in postseason success.
The most appropriate NFL comparison for James would be Brady – although Brady is indisputably more iconic to the NFL. There’s no way for James to emulate Brady’s longevity either.
