After Leaving $4.25 Million Contract, Odell Beckham Jr Backs Dallas Rumors as he Watches Luka Doncic Dismantle the Suns

The American Airlines Center was blessed to have witnessed yet another mesmerizing performance by Luka Doncic. Coming off a 30/8/7 performance in the Mavericks’ previous win against the New York Knicks, the Slovenian prodigy went ballistic.

Playing merely 29:25 minutes, the league’s leading scorer went on to post 33 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 blocks on 60 FG%, leading Jason Kidd’s boys to a 130-111 win over the Phoenix Suns.

Ever since the infamous Phoenix-Dallas 2022 playoffs series, Luka has been playing some sensational basketball. And his iconic “Everybody acting tough when they up” antic after Game 5 of the 2022 second-round clash, the 6-foot-7 guard has managed to torch the Suns, averaging 34 points, 9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

“I tried”: Luka Doncic on recruiting Odell Beckham Jr

NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. was one of the 20,000+ spectators present at the arena. OBJ, who is headlining the news for possibly joining the Dallas Cowboys, was seen sitting at the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ seats.

Doncic, who has been an interesting watch for several NFL stars, even revealed that he tried to recruit the LSU prospect.

“I tried,” Doncic said of his recruiting pitch. “After the game, I saw him. So, hopefully. I can’t say nothing. Go Cowboys.”

The wide receiver, who had a $4.25 million contract with the Rams, was seen exiting the Mavs locker room with a Luka jersey.

And when asked about his possibility of joining the Cowboys, the 3-time Pro Bowler replied with:

“It’s a good possibility.”

Luka has the most 30-point games this season

Doncic has been absolutely phenomenal this season. Despite the Texas-based franchise’s subpar start, the 3-time All-NBA member has put up a staggering 33.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game.

Further, Luka is tied with OKC’s Shai-Gilgeous Alexander with 17 30-point games, the most in the association this season.

Since 1962, Michael Jordan has had the most 30-point games in a single season with 67. In more recent history, Kobe Bryant had 56 such games in 2006 and James Harden had 57 such outings in 2018.

With 59 games remaining before the conclusion of the regular season, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the Dallas superstar will be able to join this elite group of legends.

As for OBJ, we think Luka’s phenomenal performance might have him relishing the prospect of coming to Dallas, the most opportune place in American Sports right now.
