Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA currently. The 28-year-old has been playing exceptional basketball and is the undisputed leader of the Milwaukee Bucks. With Antetokounmpo leading the way, the Bucks have a 19-7 record to start the season, good for the 2nd seed in the East.

The Greek Freak is a 2x NBA MVP, 6x All-Star, 1x NBA Champion, 1x Finals MVP, and the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year. He won his first MVP in 2019, after averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, a block, and a steal per game. He led the Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2001. They ultimately fell short to Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors.
However, after winning his MVP honors, it was announced Giannis would get his own signature line with Nike. This was the first time an international athlete got their own signature line with the shoe conglomerate.
Giannis Antetokounmpo admitted to having over 4000 pairs of shoes
Coming from humble beginnings, Giannis didn’t have a lot of luxuries growing up. In fact, when he first started playing basketball, Giannis used to share a pair of sneakers with his elder brother Thanasis.
However, things changed for him and the family when he was selected as the 15th pick in the 2013 draft. Talking to Rachel Nichols in the 2019 offseason, Antetokounmpo listed his plan for the upcoming season. He also discussed his upcoming signature shoe, ‘Freak 1’ with Nike.
Nichols touched on the topic of him sharing shoes with Thanasis and asked the MVP how many pairs of shoes did he own?
Giannis replied and said, “Around 4000 pairs.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo shared that he kept his shoes in various locations.
“I got a shoe closet. It’s a big room. In there is probably around 300, 400. But I got a large storage unit that I have in my house. And I have a lot of shoes in Greece also.”
When someone estimated how much Giannis’ collection would be worth, the value came out to be nearly $480,000. However, this was back in 2019, and I’m sure the number has gone up since.
How many signature shoes does Giannis have?
Over the summer of 2022, Giannis and Nike released his fourth signature sneaker, Zoom Freak 4s. So far, the $70 Million Bucks superstar has had four signature shoes with Nike and they all have returned excellent reviews from the audience.
It is a successful partnership, and we can expect the Greek Freak to keep expanding his Freak line for as long as he’s in the NBA.
