Amidst 3-2 Hole, Devin Booker Matches Michael Jordan's Scoring Prowess Through The First 10 Games Of The 2023 Playoffs

Ever since the 2023 postseason started, Devin Booker has been on a freakish tear. Every time the Phoenix Suns’ guard has set foot on the hardwood, he has managed to go on an impressive scoring rampage. The 26-year-old’s dominance has been sensational and is notable enough to be compared to Michael Jordan’s postseason performance in the 1990s.

Even though the Arizona-based franchise suffered a 16-point Game 5 loss, D-Book had yet another outstanding outing. Keeping his streak of scoring 25+ points alive, the former Kentucky Wildcat is now averaging a staggering 35.9 points per game.

The 359 points he has scored in the first 10 games of the postseason is the 8th most in NBA Playoffs history, tying with Wilt Chamberlain’s 1964 run. Further, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard only trails Michael Jordan’s 1990 performance (396 points) in the last 33 years.

NBA Twitter lauds Devin Booker for historic playoffs run

As soon as the stats went viral on social media, NBA Twitter praised the youngster despite his team being down 2-3 in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Users even lauded Booker for averaging an efficient 60% shooting from the field across the 10 games.

While the numbers are off the charts, knowing Devin, he will only be fully satisfied if and when the Suns lift the 2023 NBA championship.

Michael Jordan’s terrific 1990 playoffs run

Even though the Chicago Bulls didn’t win the championship in 1990, His Airness’ had one of the best playoff runs in league history.

Having defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers, Phil Jackson’s boys fell 1 game short of advancing to the NBA Finals. Despite MJ’s 32.1/7.1/6.3 display in the Eastern Conference Finals, the “Bad Boy” Pistons clinched a 4-3 series win.

However, in those 16 playoff games, the Black Cat played at a different level altogether. Dominating some of the best defenders in the league, Air Jordan put up 36.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists on 51.4% shooting.
