Amidst His 'Horrible Player' Take on Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen’s Adoration For MJ At His Hall Of Fame Induction Resurfaces

Scottie Pippen recently made it to every headline for his recent comments condemning Michael Jordan. On an appearance on the ‘Gimme the Hot Sauce!’ podcast, Pip was talking about LeBron James’ greatness before deeming MJ as a “horrible player” prior to his addition to the Chicago Bulls. Amid his shocking remarks, a clip of Scottie acknowledging Mike’s importance in his career from the 2010 Hall-Of-Fame speech has resurfaced on social media.

Many regard the Jordan-Pippen duo to be one of the best pairings in NBA history. Sharing the locker room for nearly a decade, both superstars’ games would complement the others. The result of the same? The Illinois-based franchise won 6 championships in 8 years.

Despite sharing a great camaraderie during their playing days, the duo’s relationship has tarnished over the years.

“I will cherish our relationship forever”: Scottie Pippen

Having shared a beautiful bond during their time with the Bulls, Pippen and Jordan had a lot of mutual respect. Even during the forward’s Hall-Of-Fame speech, he expressed his appreciation for Jordan. The 6-foot-8 star began his speech with:

“What an honor it is for me as a basketball player to have the all-time great presenting me here tonight. It was so valuable to me as a player to see someone who had the same desire, determination, passion and love for the game. Who knew that No. 23 would be here 23 years later presenting me into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame?”

Further, Pip turned back and thanked His Airness for having an adverse effect on his career.

“MJ, you have touched so many people’s lives, but none like mine. Thank you for being the best teammate; I will always cherish that experience and I will cherish our relationship forever.”

However, their relationship was not as tight as everybody expected it to be. Over the course of the coming years, Scottie would go on to berate Jordan whenever he got the opportunity to.

In more recent years, the 7-time All-Star has called Mike ‘selfish’ and even hated his former teammate for the team’s portrayal in The Last Dance. More recently, the 57-year-old would go on a passionate rant, stating how Mike was ‘horrible’ in the 1980s.

Does Scottie hate Michael Jordan because of Larsa Pippen’s relationship with Marcus Jordan?

After being spotted together in 2022, Michael Jordan’s son and Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife made their relationship public. Marcus Jordan, Michael’s younger son, and Larsa Pippen have been going out for quite some time now.

Pippen’s hatred towards Jordan grew after the release of the Netflix docu-series. However, fans are speculating that Scottie has been bothered by the Marcus-Larsa relationship.

While Pip has never explicitly stated anything about the relationship, we certainly believe that it could be something that has been disturbing him.
