LeBron James calls out the Philadelphia 76ers fan(s) who threw popcorn at Russell Westbrook during today’s first round game.

The Sixers took a commanding 2-0 series lead at home today on the back of more successful team defense. Bradley Beal went off for Washington, but the rest of the Wizards were roundly held to low point totals.
Russell Westbrook limped off the floor twice in the second half with some foot problems – most likely an ankle sprain or a roll. The second time around, he left the court for good in the 4th quarter.
But the Brody couldn’t even peacefully leave the court under his own auspices without a Philly truther harassing him. As Westbrook walked off the floor, he was greeted with some popcorn poured on his head by an unknown fan.

It took a ton of effort for security details to hold Russ back in the wake of his indignant reaction. It was 100% warranted given how no one expects to be showered with popcorn irrespective of the venue.
The security detail at Wells Fargo Arena obviously ejected the perpetrator. But some members of the basketball fraternity, including LeBron James, also want to see who exactly had the gall to disrespect an injured NBA player as such.

LeBron seems to be engrossed in watching other first-round series across the NBA – with good reason. He was also watching on when Russ reacted thus to having popcorn poured on him.
James’s call for justice is simple – he believes everyone has a right to know the offender. In his eyes, once you act out in such a way in public, people have the right to know who you are:
“By the way WE AS THE PLAYERS wanna see who threw that popcorn on Russ while he was leaving the game tonight with a injury!! There’s cameras all over arenas so there’s no excuse! Cause if the shoe was on the other foot…”

LeBron James is well within his rights to demand such a course of justice. We should always remember that the players on the floor are human beings like us, too. A little more respect doesn’t go amiss at all.
