Ben Simmons 3 pointer

The overall No.1 pick in the 2016 NBA drafts has just improved a little on his three-point shooting percentage. Ben scored a three-pointer against Memphis, and now the 3-point shooting percentage for Ben is 0.12,  as he has made 3 shots in 25 attempts. The previous percentage for Ben was 0.087.

The player has been a star for Philadelphia 76ers but has been always criticized for his shooting capabilities behind the arch. With the Sixers changing his role for the Bubble, incorporating him as a Power forward, who knew the 3s would start flowing in from day 1.

However, the 3s seem to be something that Simmons has been working on during the lockdown and it seems as if he is going to be available for a lot more3 point shots in Orlando.

Ben Simmons’ previous Three-pointers

Prior to this, 2018 NBA Rookie of the year had scored a Three-pointer against Cleveland Cavaliers (Dec 2019) and New York Knicks (Nov 2019)

Why is Ben Simmons shooting 3 pointers?

Brett Brown believes that a 3-point shot for Ben is a bit overrated but recently he has seen a difference in his shooting. This may be the reason for Ben hitting the net two times behind the 22-foot line.

The Sixers coach believes that Simmons is slowly changing his game and incorporating the technique of finding space on the 3 point line. His perspective about his overall game has changed and he has broadened his horizons with respect to different ways of scoring on the court.

Brown recently said that “I think this area is arguably one of the most overrated topics I’ve been a part of in coaching, Ben Simmons is going to play basketball and the court is going to tell him what he should or shouldn’t do. You can say ‘well I don’t agree with you coach Brown’ or you can say ‘fair enough’. I feel like his mindset to willingly find space and find threes, that has been a paradigm shift.”

Hopefully, with this new found ‘shooting zeal’, Simmons can help the 76ers in more ways than one.
