“Chuck, I’m about to say something I’ve never said before”: Charles Barkley uses his quick wit to prank Shaquille O’Neal once again on Inside the NBA
Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal continue to entertain us with their unique camaraderie while hosting the NBA on TNT.
There’s little doubting that Inside the NBA is the world’s best sports show. It is as much about basketball analysis as it is a group of 4 friends ribbing each other. Irrespective of how the events of the game transpire, you can always count on Chuck to give you a lift.
His natural charisma makes him one of the most likable people ever on television. This is a man who understands the idea of self-deprecation and has the appetite to take a few jokes on himself.
Of course, it’s another matter that Chuck is so good at taking the mickey out of anyone that he could get a laugh at your expense at any given moment in time. This quality of his has made for some of the best gags we’ve ever seen on television.
Thursday night gave us quite a few notable additions to a long list of roasts by Chuck. He had an incredulous reaction to Kenny’s suggestion that Patrick Beverley and Dennis Rodman are both equally dirty players.
Charles Barkley sneaks in a quick jibe on Shaquille O’Neal
Another of the memorable events of a night with some rather one-sided basketball was his quick-witted joke aimed at Shaq. It’s usually the Big Aristotle who catches the worst of Chuck’s verbal salvos.
This particular occasion was different in that it was even more off-the-cuff than usual. Given that Chuck has been joking about Shaq’s looks for 2 decades now, his subtle jibe at this point was quite something. Take a look for yourself below.

Shaq carried on bravely as if he hadn’t heard it. But you can see a slight sparkle in his eye as he carries on talking about how Brook Lopez plays in the paint like he’s 6’6″.
