Artificial intelligence has been lurking in the shadows of technological advancements for some time now. However, it has gained serious traction in the last couple of years. As per Bloomberg, AI’s market capitalization has already reached $400 billion. Now it has even become accessible for people to use as a service to get the wildest kinds of images, voices and texts. And after Shaquille O’Neal saw some eerie instances, he couldn’t help but put it up on his Instagram.

Like fellow analyst Stephen A. Smith, Shaquille O’Neal has been skeptical about AI. This isn’t because O’Neal or Smith believe that it wouldn’t be effective. Rather, its boundless capabilities seem beyond scary to them.
Shaquille O’Neal posts disturbing AI-generated pictures of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and others
NBA players require a bit of muscle mass on their bodies to play basketball at a high level. So, as you’d expect, they are a bit more ‘buff’ than the average Joe.
That being said, to portray them as competitive bodybuilders only encourages discomfort. And yet, as Shaquille O’Neal displayed on his Instagram, that visual aid is easily available through the magic of artificial intelligence. Take a look at @tragicpatek’s tweet below to see screenshots of what the ‘Big Diesel’ posted on his Instagram stories. And of course, the post by Ching Graphics in question.

Admittedly, every athlete looks beyond strange in these posts. Stranger yet, is the fact that Shaq posted this at all, especially given his comments on AI.
Perhaps he simply ran out of things to post on his Instagram. After all, he does put up a ton of stuff every single day.
Shaq is known to be wary of new technology
O’Neal’s distaste for artificial intelligence isn’t an anomaly. The big man has displayed an aversion to new technology on many different occasions.
It’s hard to blame the big man on this one. After all, he did try to get into cryptocurrency. But all that brought him was a class action lawsuit.
Since then, the only thing Shaq has been able to say in his defense is that he never quite understood crypto, as per Sky Sports. An opinion likely applicable to most people around the globe, considering how convoluted the whole concept is.
