Damian Lillard and Paul George

Damian Lillard and Paul George apologized to each other as things seemed to get out of hand when their families got involved in their public spat.

Blazers star Lillard was waived goodbye by George and co. when the former missed a pair of free throws in the dying moments of the fourth quarter as the Clippers went onto clinch the game. The loss dented the Blazers severely as the gap between themselves and the chasing pack decreased with just a few games remaining.

However, the stars took the spat personally with both of them extending the feud to media interactions and then onto Instagram. George and Beverley waived goodbye to Lillard as the Blazers hope to qualify were dented massively. But Lillard reminded them about their past history as the Blazers star had eliminated both of them from the playoffs in recent years. The NBA 2k21 cover star also accused George of running away from the grind.

Both George and Lillard are fierce competitors in the game and their competitive fire led to their spat during the recent clash. However, it is great that the two stars took matters in their own hands and apologised to each other.

Banter and trash talk are good but when family gets involved, you know things have gone a little too far. It’s great to see the duo own up to their mistakes and move on with nothing respect for each other.

Lillard as expected took motivation from the spat and put up a 51 performance against 76ers to keep the Blazers marginally in front of their chasing pack for the time-being.

Meanwhile, Paul George aims to win his first NBA title this year with the Clippers who are seen by many to be the favorites this season. The Clippers have the most stacked squad in the league and with the best wing duo in George and Kawhi, its easy to understand why they are favored to win the title this season.
