With the coronavirus pandemic, conspiracy theories have been a plenty, with social media acting like a breeding ground for misinformation.

And when people start spreading this misinformation, sometimes even celebrities and sportspersons get caught up in it. Verifying your sources and aligning your ideology around it should be step number 1.

Blazers star, Damian Lillard ended up doing something similar today, sharing a video of a ‘fake doctor’ who has been doing rounds on twitter for her ‘on-ground’ experience of dealing with Covid-19.

A lot of people have revealed that they are ant-vaccination, as they are not quite sure about the side effects and funding it would require. People also feel that the government has some ‘other agenda’ while trying to vaccinate people and hence want to stay away from it.

Lillard tweeted a video of the fake doctor that has been spreading misinformation about the ground realities of Coronavirus treatment. She has been trying to promote the anti-vaccination and it seems like Lillard fell prey to it as well.

The doctor has been called out multiple times on social media for promoting content that is wrong and misleading.

Instagram too has flagged this video as ‘false information’.

Lillard later ended up deleting the tweet, which was a good move on his part, as he wouldn’t want to influence the millions of fans that he has with some misleading information.

A lot of athletes like Lewis Hamilton and Novak Djokovic have put out ‘anti vax’ statements and need to be careful about what they say in a pandemic ridden world. A vaccination would be a boon to mankind at this point of time, and seems like the only hope of getting back to a normal life.

Lillard and the Bubble re-start

Lillard is currently nursing an injury and needs rehabilitation before he can be completely match fit. The Blazers will need to play it smart if they want to end up as the 8th seed in the West.

And if they want to have any chance of getting into the playoffs, Lillard will have to play a massive role in it.
