"Damn, Russell Westbrook Gon Pass Me Next Too!": Charles Barkley Has Bitter-Sweet Reaction to James Harden Crossing Him on All-time Scoring List

Over the last couple of days, things have started to look up for the Philadelphia 76ers yet again. A big part of the same has been the duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden. While Joel has dropped 30 or more points in five straight games, Harden has been averaging 14.3 assists in the last three contests. Last night, Harden passed former Sixer Charles Barkley on an all-time list.

Last night, the Sixers handed the Kings a 123-103 loss.

James Harden was doing everything for the team. He scored 21 points, dished 15 assists, grabbed 7 rebounds, and stole the ball five times.

Along the way, James also managed to cross Charles Barkley and secure the 27th spot on the All-Time Scoring list.

Charles Barkley reacted to James Harden breaking his ‘scoring record’

During last night’s Inside the NBA, the guys were talking about the Sixers-Kings game. The team had the all-time scoring list pulled up during the same, just so they could show Charles Barkley that James Harden had left him behind.

Seeing the same, Chuck was initially sad and said,

“Damn, Russ gon pass me too! Damn, James passed me tonight, Russ gon pass me next.

He then tried taking the high road, and said, “Hey James, records are meant to be broken.”

At that point, Chuck was interrupted by Kenny Smith, who corrected him and told him that wasn’t a record.

It must not have been easy for Chuck to get over what had happened and take the high road. That is very unlike him. Next up is Russell Westbrook, and I’m not sure Chuck’s reaction would be as civil then as it was yesterday.

How has James Harden been so far this season?

To start the NBA season, James Harden was playing at a level that we were all used to seeing. He was taking more shots, creating more opportunities. However, an injury ruled him out for almost a month, and ever since his return, Harden has taken over as the role of the primary playmaker on the team.

In the last two contests, he’s scored 15+ points and dished 15+ assists, becoming the only player in franchise history to do so.

It’s great to see James playing the way he used to and finding ways to contribute towards winning ball games.
