Days After Joel Embiid Dropped $213,280,928 Hint, Gilbert Arenas Uses Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Example to Call Out 2023 MVP

When Gilbert Arenas takes the mic on his podcast “Gil’s Arena,” basketball enthusiasts know they need to prepare for a whirlwind of opinions and insights. Recently, he ignited heated discussions by drawing intriguing parallels with Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and 2023 MVP Joel Embiid. This intriguing analysis comes hot on the heels of Embiid dropping a cryptic hint about his future amidst a wave of speculation.

Embiid, always one to keep fans guessing, threw a curveball into the mix after removing Philadelphia from his Social bio. With the backdrop of James Harden’s critical comments aimed at Sixers’ president Daryl Morey, this might be also a departure hint by Embiid, leaving a hefty sum of $213,280,928 to be pondered over.

Gilbert Arenas questions Joel Embiid’s work ethic

Recently, Gilbert Arenas on his podcast talked about multiple topics and players’ work ethics was one of them. He mentioned that for some people, things come so easy to them that they don’t really put in extra effort.

To explain his point, Arenas took on a journey down memory lane, revisiting the Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O’Neal saga that unfolded on the Los Angeles Lakers’ stage. Kobe’s notorious labeling of Shaq as “lazy” echoes through time. As Arenas astutely notes, this verbal showdown didn’t deter Shaq. Instead, it seemed to inject a dose of nitrous into his game, propelling him to maintain his on-court dominance.

The Wizard legend then brought Joel Embiid, the charismatic center of the Philadelphia 76ers, into the talk. With a hint of mischief, Arenas compares the “lazy” accusations hurled at Embiid to the echoes of Kobe’s words from yesteryears.

Here’s a quote from the man himself,

“ Joel, does he want to win? He needs a Dame type mentality…….. He needs a Westbrook, someone who’s going to demand and tell him nah we ain’t doing that sh**. He needs that type of personality because he is the type of person to step up in that kind of environment….. What made Michael great, what made Kobe great, they had the natural gift and the highest work ethic. Let’s take Greek the Freak, we can see what he works out like, we give that to Joel Embiid, what does he become.”

Drawing parallels, Hibachi compared Joel Embiid’s work ethic to that of Shaq’s. He raises eyebrows by questioning whether the perceived “laziness” surrounding Embiid might actually mask an unseen work ethic akin to Shaq’s. But here’s the twist – Arenas tosses Giannis Antetokounmpo into the mix, creating a tantalizing concoction of talent and dedication.

Arena said that Embiid will transform into a different player with work ethic like Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Joel Embiid’s Championship Aspirations: A Nonchalant Stance

Arenas’s exploration of Embiid’s mindset doesn’t stop at work ethics alone. He segues into Embiid’s fervent desire for an NBA championship, irrespective of the jersey he dons. Embiid’s audacious declaration that he wouldn’t mind clinching the title beyond the realm of Philadelphia echoes his relentless pursuit of greatness. It’s a testament to his determination and his willingness to chase the ultimate basketball glory, even if it means stepping away from the franchise he’s been synonymous with.

As we await Embiid’s next move and career chapters, one thing is clear – the basketball world will be watching, dissecting, and speculating till he gets his hands on the coveted trophy.
