Rose played 50-games with the Knicks this season, averaging 14.7 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 4.2 APG on 47.0% shooting from the field. This was followed by some great performances in the post-season.
In the only game that the Knicks won in the first round of the 2021 Playoffs. D-rose had 26-points and shot an incredible 66.7% from the 3-point line. This paved his way in the starting line-up of the Knicks during the Playoffs.

As a result of which during the voting process of 2020-21 NBA MVP, Rose received a first-place MVP vote from a fan. This was surprising considering the fact he had started only 3-games this season. The 32-year old played the role of a mentor to the young Knicks roster.
Though Nikola Jokic, won by a landslide of first-place votes and was declared the 2021 NBA MVP. It was D-rose getting the 1 vote from a fan that surprised everyone as he finished 9th on the list behind the likes of Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic.

Rose was one of the leading candidates for 6th man of the year this season as well. The NBA fans have always had a special place for Derrick Rose, owing to his tragic career.
