"Drake is such a fake fan?!": Toronto Raptors fans call out superstar rapper for his emotional goodbye to Kyle Lowry

Superstar Drake bids adieu to Kyle Lowry with an emotional message, Raptors fans call out Drake for his ‘fake’ loyalty to the team

Toronto-based rapper Drake took to his Instagram story to pay tribute to Kyle Lowry. Lowry, who had been with the Raptors since 2012, recently inked a 3-year, $90 million deal with the Miami Heat. Lowry, in his 9 seasons with the Raptors, holds multiple franchise records to his name. He leads the team first in assists (4,277), steals (873), three-pointers (1,518), and triple-doubles (18). With 601 appearances, Lowry has the second-most appearances as a Raptor, trailing DeMar DeRozan.

With Lowry moving on, Drake found it apt to giving him a final tribute. He took to his stories, and wrote,

“The city is yours eternally and we wish you the best in South Beach. We will continue to celebrate you.”

Raptors fans call out Drake for being a ‘fake fan’

If anyone watched the Raptors’ playoff run in 2019, they’d remember Drake and his consistent presence courtside. He was one of the loudest voices on the sidelines and would give his all to help the team succeed. However, since the championship, he is nowhere to be seen at the Raptors games. Drizzy has been spotted at Laker games, rooting for LeBron James. Before 2019, Drizzy was spotted supporting Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry at the Warriors games.

Raptors fans had enough of the same, and called out their superstar rapper.

While ‘fans’ may call out Drizzy for whatever, posting a tribute was apt. He is the ‘Global Ambassador’ of the Raptors, and Lowry did play an important role in getting the Raptors their first-ever ring.
