As fans know, the Golden State Warriors had their season cut short in somewhat of a disappointing fashion. The team only had to win one out of the two games they played in the play-in to make the postseason. However, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green just couldn’t find a way to lead the team to this year’s NBA playoffs.
As a result of this, the franchise is in it’s off-season. And while, most of the Warriors’ roster are living low during this time, Green has taken this time to go live yet again with the Inside Crew on TNT.
During the latest edition of Inside the NBA, Dray was getting along very well with his fellow panelists. However, when it came to a tradition on the show, Kenny Smith made it clear, he wasn’t messing with the three-time NBA champion.

“I do not want the smoke Draymond Green!”: Kenny Smith did not want to race with Green to the board
TNT’s Inside the NBA is by far one of the most entertaining sports shows on national television. Yes, former players, and Elevator Ernie of course, come together to analyze the NBA today. However, what makes it special, is that it allows its hosts to indulge in some seriously entertaining shenanigans and rituals.
One such ritual surrounds former player Kenny Smith, who uses the huge screen behind the table to analyze specific plays. But because there is a bit of a distance to cover, the longtime host often races with someone from the panel to the board.
Usually, this consists of retired players like Shaq and Chuck. But, during this episode, he had Draymond Green as a competitor. And when he realized this, here is what went down. Take a look.
“I do not want the smoke Draymond! If you’re a current player, I’m not racing you to the board.”
Draymond: 1
Kenny: 0 @Money23Green smoked Kenny to the board. 😂 pic.twitter.com/4t8MOSVtHE— NBA on TNT (@NBAonTNT) June 1, 2021
As he said this, all of his co-hosts, including Green, started laughing hysterically, much like the viewers at home. Despite saying this though, Kenny did later try to race the Warriors star to the board.
And as much as we’d like to say the former player pulled off a stunning upset, you have probably already seen what really happened in the embedded tweet.
After losses to the Chuckster and even Ernie Johnson in recent episodes, we’re sure Kenny will be telling himself that this is just a bad week. But, could this dynasty finally be weakening? Only time will tell it seems.
