Paul Pierce, while he might’ve played for teams other than the Boston Celtics, will always be associated with the Celts given just how iconic the 2008 NBA championship was. One of Boston’s fiercest rivals during the Pierce-KG era was LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Pierce has expressed a certain level of disdain for LeBron over the years and so him betting against the Denver Nuggets and on the Miami Heat for Game 3 of the NBA Finals seems a bit odd.

‘The Truth’ and ‘Ticket’ are considered to be Boston Celtics royalty and after retiring from the game of basketball, the two have transitioned into analysts on ‘Showtime’. Several NBA legends who want to be able to control the narratives a bit better on NBA discourse have taken their talents away from the big guys like ESPN and come to platforms like ‘Showtime’.
Ahead of tonight’s Game 3 between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets, Kevin Garnett and Pierce had a live stream on their channel. Safe to say that Paul wasn’t acting all too right when live.
Paul Pierce gets accused of being drunk while admitting he bet $2,000 on Miami
The livestream, while entertaining, was not something fans expected all too much. The live chat kept hounding Paul Pierce for seemingly being drunk while giving his analysis of the game. he would then go on to admit when the score was 86-70 in favor of the Nuggets that he had $2,000 on the Heat.
“I’m not feeling too good about this game right now. I put a couple racks on Miami tonight and Denver up 16 in the 4th. Imma have to win this back at the blackjack table. I’m not confident in my 2 racks. Denver is out here executing,” said Paul Pierce.
The Nuggets would go on to win this game with a fairly comfortable margin as Nikola Jokic had the first ever 30-20-10 game in NBA Finals history. Guys off the bench, especially Christian Braun, contributed as well along with the starters like Jamal Murray pitching in with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Paul Pierce has been in trouble before for going on live
The reason for why Paul Pierce isn’t on ESPN any longer is because of a fated Instagram live that he had in the spring of 2021. He would showcase a slew of ‘exotic dancers and strippers’ on this live of his, clearly something that wasn’t suited for younger audiences.
After ESPN caught wind of this, they cut ties with him almost immediately. It was reported that the ’08 Finals MVP lost $100,000 that night due to this live.
