Earning Tens Of Millions Through Rap And Hollywood, Shaquille O'Neal Fawns Over Notorious B.I.G And Jay-Z For Why He Indulged In The Entertainment Industry

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most successful individuals in the world of sports. Known for his incredible business acumen, Shaq’s investments and endorsements have allowed him to build an empire worth $400 million. This success has allowed him to immerse himself in a variety of different hobbies and sectors. Well, one of his biggest journeys was into the entertainment sector and he commented on the same in an interview on The Jordan Harbinger Show.

Big Diesel is multifaceted when it comes to his talents. He has indulged himself both as a musician and as an actor. The four-time NBA Champion is quite the rapper and has released a few albums, receiving a Platinum certification for his debut album, Shaq Diesel. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about his acting, having had several box office failures, including Kazaam and Steel.

Shaquille O’Neal is incredibly proud of his rap career in the entertainment industry

The Big Aristotle, Shaquille O’Neal has found varying levels of success in the entertainment industry. Most notably, he found his most success as a rapper.

However, while he has released some great albums, including his Platinum-certified debut album Shaq Diesel, it wasn’t the reason he got into the industry. Shaq is a superstar who dreamt big as a child and more than receiving awards and certificates, it is fulfilling his dreams that gives him a sense of happiness.

So, as he explained, while he is proud of his achievements, it is the fact that he made his dreams come true that makes him proud. After all, his albums and movies aside, the opportunities he received, like working with Jay-Z on No Love Lost, and The Notorious B.I.G on Still Can’t Stop the Reign made his journey into the industry worthwhile.

“For me it wasn’t about doing those things, it was about following my dream. I’m in a studio with Notorious B.I.G! How many people can say that? I’m in a studio with Jay-Z… Nas, Peter Gunz, Lord Tariq, Erick Sermon… Wu-Tang Clan. Those are guys I grew up listening to.. A Tribe Called Quest… that’s making it!”

It has been a while since Shaq has delved into the world of rap. However, that does not mean he has fully removed himself from the entertainment industry. He is now thriving as a DJ under the name DJ Diesel.

Shaq continues to thrive in the music industry as a DJ despite reportedly earning nothing

Long before he began rapping, Shaquille O’Neal was a DJ. Having first started DJing back in the 1980s at LSU, Shaq is likely to be found dropping beats nowadays rather than spitting bars. Working under the name DJ Diesel, the Hall of Famer has performed at several music festivals.

However, what makes his career as a DJ so unique is the fact that he does it for free. According to Shaq, he performs because he loves seeing people jump up and down.

O’Neal truly is one of the most unique performers out there. But, as he said, it’s not so much the money and success that allures him, rather, it is the chance to make his dreams come true.
