"Even LeBron James will not be able to overcome Russell Westbrook": Skip Bayless dismisses Lakers' 2022 NBA championship odds despite have AD, Carmelo Anthony alongside 2 MVPs

LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are 2 of the greatest passers in basketball. But Skip Bayless continues to downplay the Lakers based on fit.

There’s no doubt that the Lakers will have – on paper – 3 of the biggest mismatches in the league next season. LeBron has been a career-long mismatch, as have Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis in different ways.

These 3 are possibly the 3 most athletic players at their respective positions. And with regards to specific skills required for their positions, they’re up there as well.

However, people are questioning how well the Lakers’ stars fit alongside their role players. On the face of it, Malik Monk and Ben McLemore project to be their best 3-point shooters next year.

“Even LeBron James will not be able to overcome Russell Westbrook”: Skip Bayless

However, given the presence of one King James on the roster, these are questions that should resolve themselves as the season develops. But haters like Skip Bayless have found the opportunity to spread negativity before a single bounce of the ball.

Bayless took to Undisputed today to try and undermine the Lakers’ chances of making the NBA Finals next year. He believes that LeBron and Russ are not great alongside each other right now, and won’t be in the future either:

“Even the great LeBron James – the man I call the best passer in basketball – will not be able to overcome Russell Westbrook. Now, this was a very interesting twist, because Shannon Sharpe has been advocating Russ to be the point guard. So that LeBron James can finally move off-ball.”

“Chris Broussard, on the other hand, has been advocating Russ to move off ball? That would result in the worst West-bricking shooting guard in the history of pro basketball.”
