“Giannis is really funny, he’ll say anything”: PJ Tucker gushes about the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2-time MVP as a teammate who’s always upbeat and joking ahead of NBA Finals Game 1 vs Phoenix Suns
PJ Tucker says that playing alongside Giannis and being with him in practices has revealed how the 2-time MVP is one funny guy.
There’s no doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the key cog who determines how these NBA Finals go. The Greek Freak has been in the form of his life through the course of this year’s playoffs.
Giannis has raised his game to now be considered on par with the LeBrons and Durants of the world. We all saw how Kevin Durant put Milwaukee to the sword with 2 near 50-point games in the Conference Semifinals.
The Greek Freak, who kept calling Durant the best player in the world all series long, wasn’t too far behind. He dropped his own 40-point game in that make-or-break Game 7.
His intense on-court demeanour might mislead some spectators into thinking that Giannis is a serious guy. There could be nothing farther from the truth than this notion, according to PJ Tucker.
PJ Tucker gushes about Giannis and how funny the 2-time MVP always is
PJ Tucker joined the Milwaukee Bucks after being traded by the Rockets in March this year. He’s been a crucial component of their Finals run thus far. Tucker will be expected to take the tough Devin Booker assignment for much of the Finals.
Eric Nehm recently interviewed the veteran forward, who’s been tasked with guarding 1-5 all career. One of the revelations that the 36-year-old made was about the funny nature of his superstar teammate Giannis:
“If you see all the videos, I’m always laughing because he is hilarious. You really don’t know. He’s really funny. He’ll say anything. He’s real. He’s going to tell you some real stuff, he’s going to keep it real with you.”
After the Bucks beat the Nets, P.J. Tucker ended a long answer with a pause and a three-word sentence.
“I’m just happy.”
I wanted to know more about that answer, so we chatted about happiness, his journey, and more in a 1-on-1 convo at @TheAthletic: https://t.co/t3LIN4aPHB

“It’ll catch you off guard because you wouldn’t expect it, the way he comes with it, the way he says stuff. You wouldn’t expect it and I don’t think anybody would that didn’t really know him. That’s why in all those videos you always see me laughing because I think he’s hilarious.”
