Golden State Warriors Rumors

Golden State Warriors have identified the next Shaun Livingston in Tyrese Haliburton and are going for him in the NBA 2020 draft, according to rumors

The Warriors are “high” on what the Iowa State guard can do. And is potentially seen as the ‘next Shaun Livingston’.

Livingston was a tall guard (6’7”) who provided the Warriors with reliable depth and leadership behind the superstar tandem of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, across the final five years of his career, before his retirement in September 2019.

Shaun Livingston won three NBA titles with the  Warriors and decided to hang up his boots after last season’s NBA final defeat against Toronto Raptors.

Who is Tyrese Haliburton- The next Shaun Livingston

Tyrese, 20, is a tall (6’5) and polished guard. He has a natural feel for the game and a very strong jump shot. He plays for Iowa State Cyclones and is a Wisconsin native.

Haliburton is still sprouting and could grow close to 6 ft 7 inches. That would make the same frame as veteran Shaun Livingston, who used his size advantage to overpower smaller guards.

He is currently preparing for 2020 NBA Draft, and his expected to move to one of the big teams.

What excites the Warriors about Haliburton

Haliburton is coming off a breakout sophomore season with the Cyclones. He averaged 15.2 points, 6.5 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.5 steals across 22 appearances. While shooting 50.4 percent from the field, including 41.9 percent from three-point range.

He would have a limited role in the team with Steph Curry present but he could be seen as a prospect.

His versatility excites everyone the most. He can play backcourt providing support to Curry and Thompson. As well as is capable of scoring points on the frontcourt with Draymond Green.

He could gel in well with a team of superstars like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and even Andrew Wiggins. Running plays and providing points off the bench.

The Warriors won’t know their draft pick until 25th August at the NBA Draft lottery. Warriors have the best odds of securing a number no 1 draft pick but it that doesn’t happen, Tyrese Haliburton, would be a great pick for them.
