Perhaps only a handful of athletes live a life even remotely similar to Dennis Rodman. The once millionaire playboy star who famously bedded even Madonna. But mostly, Rodman, nicknamed The Worm for the way he moved while playing pinball, wore a crown of thorn.

The $500k worth star’s life was one big pool of swirling mess pulling him deeper with each terrible decision. And no matter what he did, Dennis couldn’t course correct. It wasn’t that he was incapable of observing them. He often displayed a keen insight into his personality.
In his book Bad As I Wanna Be, Rodman revealed one such decision that took his life down a dark path. He had married Annie Bakes at his daughter Alexis’ urging. However, Annie ended up turning Alexis against her own father.

Dennis Rodman blamed Annie for filling Alexis with hate
In his first biography titled Bad As I Wanna Be, Rodman discussed his marriage to Annie Bakes in a lot of detail. He claimed how their daughter Alexis had convinced both to get married. But marriage turned out to be more difficult than Dennis had anticipated.
Being always aware of his unlimited opportunities for promiscuity, Rodman felt like a beast chained. So, he broke through this chain and indulged his vices. He claimed that Annie did the same but they never really discussed it.
In time, though, Rodman began to see how Alexis was changing. He claimed that Annie knowingly lashed out at him in front of their child. Dennis Rodman believed she wanted to turn the child against him and make her treat her father the same way as her mother.
In his book, Dennis revealed: ” I felt Annie was trying to turn my daughter against me by talking me down in front of her. I thought the baby was being taught to have a bad outlook on her father, and I couldn’t say anything because I knew it wouldn’t do any good. All kids take their mother’s side, that’s just human nature. It got worse after we were divorced—what could I do then? She had the baby, and I was left out in the cold.”
The Worm also blamed his daughter for the marriage
In the same biography, Dennis confessed that marrying Annie was a mistake. According to Dennis, he always knew it wouldn’t end well but succumbed to Alexis’ requests. His daughter’s demands outweighed his rationality.
But to be fair to Alexis, she was just a child. And while Rodman does acknowledge the fact, he did not shy away from blaming her, crowning it the craziest thing he had done for his kid. Do you agree with Rodman?
