"Great Argument If Giannis Antetokounmpo Was a Lawyer": Gilbert Arenas Has His Say on Bucks Star Bringing in Michael Jordan Following First Round Exit

The Milwaukee Bucks were the team with the best record in the NBA this season, but they could not get through Jimmy Butler and the 7th-seed Miami Heat as they faced each other off in the first round of the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo, obviously, was not happy in the post-game press conference after their exit.

The post-game pressers have got to be as tough as anything else the professional athletes have to go through in their careers. And so, kudos to Giannis for not losing his calm even after getting visibly irritated by the “failure” question by the reporter for the second time in two years.

However, he should not have brought up the example of Michael Jordan. Not when he has been struggling to get to the Conference Finals after winning the championship in 2021. That’s according to Gilbert Arenas and his crew.

Gilbert Arenas would agree to “no failure in sports” comments by Giannis Antetokounmpo if he was a lawyer

Former 3x All-Star Gilbert Arenas, on his show Gil’s Arena sat down with Josiah Johnson, and former NBA players Rashad McCants, and Brandon Jennings. The crew started by watching Giannis’ post-game interview and gave their views on it.

While Rashad and Brandon, who have combined 0 NBA titles and the same amount of All-Star appearances, suggested the 2x MVP should have thought twice before bringing in Jordan in that conversation. Arenas said his statement about “failure” wouldn’t be as bad if he was a lawyer.

Although he later said that the Greek international did his part in the series despite being injured, Arenas started off with, “That was a great argument for him if he was a lawyer,” on Gil’s Arena latest drop.

What’s next for the Bucks?

They should be starting with finding themselves a new head coach. Other than that championship run in 2021 which he has a lot of things to thank to, Mike Budenholzer has faced criticism for his coach after almost every post-season exit of his team.

The two MVP seasons of Giannis in 2018-19, and 2019-20 ended without them reaching the NBA Finals despite finishing as the #1 team in the East. Including this season, it would be the 3rd time in 5 years that they finished as the best team in the East but failed to reach the Finals.

Hence, it looks like there is only one solution to it, or else they lose Antetokounmpo.
