“Haven’t Seen My Family Since Last Year”: LeBron James Puts Forth Corny New Years Joke Amidst 43 Point Explosion In Lakers Win

LeBron James has been balling out for the Los Angeles Lakers ever since turning 38 years old. On the night of his birthday, he would score a season 47 points with little to no effort. When asked about his performance, he claimed he had tried scoring 30 and that didn’t work so why not try scoring 40+ points. 

Dennis Schroder even admitted that ‘The King’ had come up to him prior to the game on his 38th birthday and predicted that he would go off for 40 or more points that night. Well, it seems as though turning 38 might have triggered something within him as he dropped 40+ points once again tonight. 

He did so against the Charlotte Hornets in Charlotte by dropping 43 points on 16-26 shooting from the field while also grabbing11 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Thomas Bryant chipped in with his own double-double of 18p and 15r.

LeBron James on not having met his family in a while 

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have had quite the tumultuous schedule in December. A majority of their games were away from LA and on the East Coast. They started December off with a 6-game roadie that started with a win against the Bucks and ended with a win against the Pistons. 

Their last 4 games have also been on the road in the East, with their most recent game being the Hornets win. During his postgame interview following his 43 point performance, he was asked about how he felt following the end of this mini-road trip. 

“I miss my family; I haven’t seen them since the 23rd of December. Haven’t seen them since last year. So excited to go home, see my family, spend time with the kids.” 

LeBron James did see his family on NYE and his birthday 

If there was one player who would hit fans and the media with the ‘I haven’t seen you since last year’ joke following the new year, it would be LeBron James. Maybe even Giannis. Though, it is strange that he said he hasn’t seen his family since 23rd of December. 

He celebrated his birthday at a Lobos party with his wife, Savannah James, in presence. He brought in the New Year while playing Madden next to his wife as well. Perhaps he meant he hasn’t seen his kids since the 23rd and hasn’t had his family as a whole be with him since then.
