Shaquille O’Neal has been on the fence for quite a while now when it comes to James Harden. Back in the day, Big Diesel was a huge fan of The Beard’s natural scoring ability. However, over the years, with his lack of championship success, O’Neal’s opinion of Harden has changed. In 2021, Shaq called out Harden for his lack of rings, and now he’s adding fuel to the latter’s ongoing conflict with the Philadelphia 76ers. Taking to Instagram, the Hall of Famer reshared Harden’s now-viral video calling out Sixers GM, Daryl Morey.

Since the start of the off-season, Harden has made it clear that he wants out of Philadelphia. Over the last few months, the names of many teams have been thrown around. But, the one team the 2018 MVP is reportedly keen on is the Los Angeles Clippers. Harden clearly wants to return to his home city, but the 76ers have refused to make a deal happen.
Shaquille O’Neal reshares viral video of James Harden calling Daryl Morey a liar
Tensions are at an all-time high in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. The 76ers are currently embroiled in a rather controversial saga between themselves and their star guard, James Harden. The Beard has his sites set on playing for a new NBA franchise in the 2023-2024 season. However, the Sixers don’t seem to be interested in moving on from him.
This has led to a situation, where a proposed trade to the LA Clippers was rejected. Leaving an already disgruntled Harden seething with anger. As such, he decided to take matters into his own hands, and in the midst of his China tour, he made a video. A video, wherein he called out Sixers GM, Daryl Morey, labeling him a liar.
It’s been a few hours since the video came out and it has already gone viral. With many major personalities reacting to the controversial clip, Shaquille O’Neal is the latest to join the party, taking to Instagram to share the footage.

Shaq hasn’t really given his thoughts on the whole situation, but he’s clearly intrigued by it. Perhaps we’ll get a peak into his mind in the near future, especially since he hasn’t shied away from sharing his opinions regarding Harden in the past.
Shaq is unlikely to take any of Harden’s excuses until he wins an NBA Championship
In recent years, Shaquille O’Neal has been very critical of James Harden. The Big Aristotle has pointed out on several occasions that The Beard is held back from being considered an all-time great, as he does not have a ring on his finger. And, when Harden decided to move to Brooklyn, this narrative became even more evident on Shaq’s end.
Appearing on an episode of First Take in 2021, Shaq vehemently denied Stephen A. Smith’s suggestion that the Nets just making the Finals would be a success. He reminded Smith that he isn’t a “Yes man”, and when it comes to Harden, it’s championship or bust from here on out.
For the most part, Shaq has got it right. Harden is entering the twilight years of his career, and his championship window is closing each year. It’s high time for the 10-time All-Star to win a ring.
