"He quit": Rockets announcer Calvin Murphy takes a jab at James Harden during game against Indiana Pacers on hot mic, lands in hot water

Rockets legend Calvin Murphy was heard taking a diss at James Harden after his lackluster performance against the Pacers.

James Harden did not have a good game against the Pacers last night. James scored a total of 15 points, shooting 5/14 from the field and 1/5 from deep. He did dish 12 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds to go along with it, but it was not enough as the Rockets fell short to the Pacers 114-107.

It was Harden’s second game back from his ankle sprain, and he has been looking a bit shaken up since he returned. In Houston’s post-game show on AT&T SportsNet Southwest, Calvin Murphy acknowledged Harden wasn’t his usual brilliant self.

He did try to credit Harden for getting his teammates involved on a night where he could not make his shots. However, as the show went on to the commercial break, Murphy’s mic was still on, and we could hear what he really thought about Harden’s performance.

James Harden and his woes in Houston

James Harden has made it abundantly clear that he wants to get out of Houston. Till the time the Rockets find a suitable trade for him, he is still playing for the Rockets and was putting up big numbers before his ankle sprain.

Before the sprain, Harden was averaging 37 points, 11 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in the 3 games. He still is averaging 29.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 11.0 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 28.8% from deep.

It was Harden’s lowest scoring total in almost a year(he put up 14 against the Lakers in February 2020). Another thing is clear, a lot of Houston fans are now fed up with Harden. They want him to get traded, so they get a player who plays like he wants to be there.

It would be interesting to see how the Rockets deal with this entire situation, and how much time do they take to do so.
