“I Ain’t Passing That Up”: Stephen A. Smith Does Michael Jordan’s Shrug Impression to Pass Remarks on Larsa Pippen Amidst Marcus Jordan Debacle
Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan’s relationship is making headlines once again after a recent viral clip showed Michael Jordan disapproving of his son’s relationship. The couple received a lot of flak last year after their relationship was deemed inappropriate by many in the NBA community. Not only is Larsa Pippen 17 years older than Marcus, but her ex-husband, Scottie Pippen is a former Chicago Bulls teammate of Michael Jordan. However, the drama surrounding the controversy had somewhat subsided this year after the couple claimed that their families have accepted their decision to be together. But recent developments have once again hurled the couple into public scrutiny, which has prompted ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith to call out Larsa Pippen with Jordan’s iconic shoulder shrug, before making some sly remarks on her with sexual undertones.

A clip had been gaining traction on social media earlier this month, which showed Michael Jordan leaving a place with his entourage. In response to a reporter’s question on whether he approves of Larsa and Marcus’ romance, Jordan blurted out a resounding ‘No’, before stepping into his vehicle. It was later reported that ‘Larsa Pippen’ was traumatized after hearing the Chicago Bulls legend’s verdict.
Stephen A. Smith does the Michael Jordan ‘Shrug’ impression to call out Larsa Pippen
Pippen and Jordan had seemed very serious about their relationship during their appearances on several podcasts. They even talked about the prospect of getting married and taking things more seriously. Larsa and Marcus had claimed that they have Jordan’s blessing to carry their relationship forward. However, the current developments have completely upended the dynamic between them.
Meanwhile, Stephen A. Smith held Larsa Pippen accountable for dating her ex-husband’s former teammate’s son. During his YouTube show, Smith said, “Larsa Pippen-the ex-wife of Scottie Pippen. I’m not too fond of her…Michael Jordan’s son-I’m not knocking him. But Imma knock Larsa Pippen and Imma knock Scottie Pippen.”
The veteran journalist underscored the inappropriate nature of the relationship, considering Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan’s history playing for the Bulls. He also called out Larsa Pippen for claiming she was traumatized by the whole thing, “Traumatized over what? How could you think that’d possibly be okay for Michael Jordan!”
Smith then proceeded to absolve Marcus Jordan of any kind of blame, citing Larsa’s beauty as the chief reason for his decision. The 55-year-old’s monologue had some sexual undertones as well, while he detailed why Marcus is thrilled to date Larsa despite so many issues, “By the way, Larsa looks good, she looks gorgeous. It’s perfectly understandable why Marcus Jordan said, ‘Dad, I appreciate where you are coming from, but you need to fall back…So you see what the he** I’m with. Sh*t, I ain’t letting that go, pops. I’m sorry.'”
“You know what Jordan probably did when Marcus sat up there and said, ‘Dad, you see her. I ain’t passing this up.’ Wanna know what Jordan did. He did exactly what he did when he hit those d*mn five three pointers in the first half against the Portand Trail Blazers in the [1992]NBA Finals...[gestures a shrug]. I promise you that’s exactly what Jordan did,” Smith added.
He highlighted how he believes Michael Jordan is indifferent to his son’s private life. However, it will be morally taxing for him to accept Marcus’ current relationship. Despite disapproving of the relationship, MJ has reportedly reached out to his son and clarified that the latter doesn’t require his dad’s approval to do anything in life.
