“Luka Doncic and his Mavericks will beat the Clippers 125-95 tonight”: Skip Bayless bets against his beloved Kawhi Leonard and co for Game 6 vs Mavs
Luka Doncic guided his Dallas Mavericks to a stupendous Game 5 win over the Clippers at Staples Center. Skip Bayless bets on them to win today.
The Dallas Mavericks seem to hold the edge and all the trump cards in the most fascinating first-round series thus far. This is the series that has lasted the longest and looked to be the closest on paper. And it has proved to be every bit as exciting as promised in 5 games.
The LA Clippers wanted to avoid the Lakers and the Blazers, but ended up drawing the Mavs instead. And it has mostly been stylistically a terrible matchup for Ty Lue’s men. They have been outmaneuvered for the most part in 5 games thus far.
Luka Doncic has been displaying basketball wizardry on a whole other level this postseason. In 11 playoff appearances thus far, Luka already has 4 40-point games.
For reference, this is the same number that Melo, Duncan, Dame, Kawhi, Karl Malone have in their careers. It’s more than: Kyrie, Pierce, AD, Ewing, Moses, Giannis, Isiah have had in their careers. The sky looks indeed to be the ceiling for Luka and his Mavs. But that isn’t the reason why Skip is backing them tonight.
Skip Bayless backs Luka Doncic and co, exasperated by his Clippers team
Skip Bayless is one of the few talking heads who’ve consistently backed this year’s Clippers as championship contenders. However, his smug confidence was knocked back several perches after Kawhi Leonard and co lost 2 games at home.
Skip returned a bit to his trollface after the Clippers leveled the series at 2-2. But he lost it once again after the Clippers blew their 3rd home playoff game in a row. In his mind, Kawhi and Paul George don’t have the mental fortitude to pull out this series win:
“I’m willing…I’m so convinced, I think this is going to be a wipeout tonight. I think Dallas is going to win 125-95 tonight, and I’m willing to bet you (Shannon) 5 cases of dew right now.”
