The Houston Rockets are a franchise on the verge of irrelevance. After their close flirtation with an NBA championship in 2018, they haven’t looked like contenders in the 2 seasons after that. Harden and Westbrook have both expressed their desires to join other contenders in attempts to win a championship.
AD has been in this position. During the 2018-19 season, he made it all but clear that he wanted to join the Los Angeles Lakers, having lost faith in the Pelicans management.
What Anthony Davis has to say regarding Westbrook and Harden’s trade requests
AD is available for advice if either Westbrook or Harden want to talk, but he is not expecting they will reach out. He said as much on his appearance on Da Windy City podcast.
“I think they already know. They have both been through it already. Russ has been through it in OKC and James has been through it in OKC as well. I think they are two guys who have been in the league long enough and know what they want. They both made a ton of money and both those guys I know for a fact want to win cause I’m really close with both of them.”

“They want to win, they want to compete for a championship whether that’s in Houston or somewhere else I know they are going to make the best decision for themselves and their family.”
Davis then talked about rumors surrounding a Harden trade to the Brooklyn Nets, teaming up with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
“You’ve got a great coach over there, great minded guy who knows the game from a point guard position. If it happens it happens, if it doesn’t it doesn’t. I am trying to figure out what Anthony Davis is going to do. Once I figure that out we’ll start looking at teams and things like that but that will be a pretty good team though.”
