‘I could’ve beaten Michael Jordan in 1v1’: LaVar Ball could reignite feud with ‘The GOAT’ after Hornets draft LaMelo
The Charlotte Hornets select LaMelo Ball with the 3rd overall pick. Lavar Ball and Michael Jordan will most definitely be in the same room together.
The 2020 NBA draft commenced a couple hours ago, and this year’s top picks are in. The top 3 played out as everyone predicted it would. This means the Hornets drafted Lamelo Ball at the 3rd overall pick.
Many have lauded Ball for have the most star potential out of anyone else in this draft. With Charlotte being a small market, having a draw as big as LaMelo will be crucial in filling up arena seats.

A forgotten storyline in this whole ordeal however, is the fact that Lavar Ball and Michael Jordan will be in the same room together, at one point or another.
Lavar Ball and Micahel Jordan might have their 1v1
Lavar Ball’s antics are what gained the Ball family such notoriety. One of the most blasphemous things he said, was that he could beat Michael Jordan in a 1v1, while Jordan was in his prime.
This was of course a marketing tactic by Ball but it gained massive headlines nonetheless. Everyone called him crazy back then, and they’re following suit to this day.
Both Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith agree that it wouldn’t even be close between the two in a one on one.
LaVar once said he could’ve beaten Michael Jordan one on one. In their primes, MJ would’ve beaten LaVar if MJ had played blindfolded.

How will the Ball family fit in Charlotte?
As Stephen A. said, it will be very interesting to watch the relationship between Jordan and Lavar develop.
Okay. Very happy for LeMelo Ball. But Pops in Charlotte with Michael Jordan will be very interesting

As for LaMelo, Charlotte is a great spot for him. He can immediately take the reins to the offense and orchestrate it the way he knows how.
With Charlotte being a small market, the media and flashing lights of say, LA, will not be a distraction for him. That was a lesson learned with his older brother, Lonzo.
