Jalen Green admits that he wants to be a Pistons player due to his desire of being the number one overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
With the 2021 NBA Draft less than 24 hours away from commencing, reports have been flying around concerning three of the top prospects: Jalen Green, Cade Cunningham, and Evan Mobley. Many GMs and executives believe that if this were any normal draft, all 3 players would have been the consensus number 1 overall pick in a draft class all on their own.

Unfortunately, the talent level in the 2021 Draft is quite high, with many comparing it to the LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony draft. Just like how it was in 2003, there is a sort of unanimity that Cade Cunningham will be drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the no.1 overall pick this year.
This however, hasn’t stopped the Pistons from looking at all their options as Adrian Wojnarowski reported that they’ve worked out Jalen Green and Evan Mobley as well. The former of those two is quite interesting considering the fact that he has a burning desire to be picked number one.
Jalen Green wants to be the number one overall pick and live in Detroit.
In an interview with GQ, Jalen Green talked about everything from handling fame since his high school days to looking forward to his career as a professional in the big leagues. One of the more intriguing quotes from him was him claiming that he wanted to live in Detroit as he holds being selected no.1 overall to very high regard.

Jalen Green has made it clear that he absolutely needs to be chosen in the top 2 of this draft. So much so that he’s only worked out for the Pistons and the Rockets. Though there is a sliver of chance that he does get picked by the Pistons, Cade Cunningham may edge him.
The Rockets have a player in Kevin Porter Jr whose playstyle is quite similar to Jalen Green’s but according to several reports, he grew close to KPJ during the G-League Bubble from last summer. So in regards to chemistry, looks like the Rockets, who’re slotted in at the 2nd overall pick, have less to worry about due to this budding friendship.
