“I want to meet Tina Turner”: LeBron James expresses his wish to meet the legendary Queen of Rock-n-Roll in a tweet
Tina Turner is one of the most legendary popular musicians of all time. It is no wonder that even the likes of LeBron James are awestruck by her.
Tina, who’s an octogenarian now, has spent her entire adult life entertaining millions of people. Her music has, over the years, touched the lives of generation after generation.
As far as black singers go, Tina broke several barriers for women of her community with her success. She came to the limelight in the 60s and the 70s. This was a time when American society was still plagued by the ills of segregation and racial discrimination.
Tina continued to produce music that acted as a balm for millions of people till her 70s. Turner is the only artist to have hit the UK Top 40 charts at least once in seven different decades!
LeBron James aspires to meet with legendary musician Tina Turner
It’s almost a given that LeBron James grew up listening to Tina. She had several hits in the 80s and 90s during her resurgence as a studio artist.
It’s therefore completely understandable when James tweets about wanting to meet with the uber-cool octogenarian while resting and recuperating his body in the offseason.
I wanna meet Tina Turner! She just seems so AMAZING to me! Yeah I know random but 🤷🏾♂️

James’s tweet received a few humorous responses. One of these was from CJ Toledano, who joked that he was sitting with the Queen of Rock n Roll at a Blaze Pizza outlet in Culver City at the time. This joke was well received by James’s former teammate Richard Jefferson.
Rex Chapman and Ramona Shelbourne were also among those who also professed their love and respect for Tina in the replies.
Legendary. HUGE when I was a teenager. Even bigger before that.
