'I was playing with one leg': Russell Westbrook explains his poor form ahead of insane comeback win vs Nets

‘I got healthy. I was giving everything that I have’: Russell Westbrook speaks about what changed with his overall health in the last week

After 4 consecutive losses, the Washington Wizards bounced back to win a nail-biter against the star-studded Brooklyn Nets. Westbrook was the catalyst for the win, egging his team on with his contagious intensity and scoring that dagger 3 at the end to win them the game.

Ever since Russell Westbrook was traded to the Wizards, everyone expected much better results from the team. However, things have largely looked bleak in Washington, with Beal showcasing his frustration day in and day out.

Although, on Sunday night, the Wizards gave us one of the best and high-scoring matches this season.  Russell Westbrook looked like to be in his old, MVP form after scoring 41 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

The 9-time All-Star was asked about what changed about his health in this past week, to which he replied:

“I got healthy…I was out there playing with one leg, giving it everything I have.”

From Westbrook’s post-game interview, it seems that he had been playing through an injury during the initial part of the season. That is in fact good news for Wizards fans, as the best of ‘Brodie’ is yet to come.

‘I try to cherish every moment and leave it all on the floor’: Westbrook speaks about his passion for the game

In what seemed like yet another lost game for the Wizards – Beal and Westbrook changed the outcome of the match in 12 seconds. Bradley Beal managed to continue scoring the ball at his on will- having yet another 37 point game.

In a post-game interview, Russell Westbrook spoke about his passion for the game. He said:

“Don’t take this game for granted…try to cherish every moment and leave it all on the floor.”

There had been a lot of chatter on social media that Westbrook wasn’t playing like himself and he wasn’t a good fit for Beal and the Wizards. Scoring a season-high 41 points, Westbrook is trying to prove his worth to the Wizards organization.

The Wizards have the worst record in the league with 4 wins and 12 losses. But if the 6-foot-3 point guard continues to play the way he did and reduce some burden of Bradley Beal’s shoulders, the Washington team could definitely be a force to reckon with.
