The Los Angeles Lakers cannot catch a break! After a season full of grueling injuries, they finally looked healthy. Anthony Davis had taken over and was carrying the Lakers in the first-round playoff series. LeBron James looked like he was getting his offense back. However, looks like Lady Luck is not on the defending champions’ side. Anthony Davis had to exit Game 4 early due to a groin injury. The Lakers ended up losing game 4, and now the lead they had worked so hard to build, is gone.
Anthony Davis did not return to the game, and the Suns used that to their advantage. After playing through pain in Games 2 and 3, Chris Paul looked much sharper in Game 4. These do not look like good signs for the Lakers, as the series heads back to Phoenix for Game 5 tonight.
Anthony Davis is unlikely to play tonight
The Los Angeles Lakers may have to take the floor tonight without one of their stars. Even though Anthony Davis is listed as day-to-day, it is highly unlikely that he would play tonight. Groin injuries are not easy to deal with, and the Lakers know that. LeBron James had to sit out a big chunk of the 2018 season due to one.
Lakers star Anthony Davis is unlikely to play in Game 5 vs. Suns on Tuesday due to strained groin, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. There’s optimism about Davis‘ status as series continues and as he is evaluated day-to-day.

In the absence of AD, the rest of the Lakers would have to step up and provide assistance to King James if they want to win. Davis would take the night off and put on a day-to-day status for the rest of the series.
