"Michael Jordan is the GOAT, but tonight, LeBron James can make a resounding statement": Skip Bayless piles pressure on Lakers' Finals MVP ahead of Game 5 vs Suns

Skip Bayless admits that game-4 against the Suns could be huge for LeBron James’s argument as the greatest of all time

The news that Lakers fans feared the most has indeed arrived. After landing awkwardly early in game-4, Anthony Davis suffered a groin injury, and will not return for game-5, leaving LeBron James without his partner.

Worse, Chris Paul is finally starting to look healthy again. And with the Suns having won game-4 with ease, things aren’t looking good for the Lakeshow to say the least.

But these are the moments for greatness, right? These are the moments that people could talk about forever, if the greatest players cause an upset, even in the most hopeless of situations. And it seems Skip Bayless believes with that opinion as well, just with some seriously biased constraints.

Skip Bayless believes that game-5 and this championship will add to LeBron James’s legacy, but still won’t be considered higher than Michael Jordan’s

You don’t need to have been an NBA fan for too long, to know that Skip Bayless loves to hate LeBron James. The 69-year-old analyst has made a name for himself by publicly saying negative things about the King, as well as most of the NBA of course. And on the most recent episode of ‘Undisputed’, he did it yet again. Take a look.

“Michael Jordan is clearly and forever The GOAT, LeBron can’t do anything to change that. But I will give you this: tonight is a huge opportunity for him to make a resounding statement.

After saying this, Bayless goes on to say that, winning a championship without Anthony Davis would provide a huge boost to his legacy. However, even if he did this, he wouldn’t be considered better than Michael Jordan.

His Airness indeed had an incredible career, one of, if not the best in fact. But frankly, even the most committed fans of the former player will agree, that this is taking it too far.

Even the great Air Jordan did not win a championship without Scottie Pippen. On the other hand, even if LeBron James managed to take this team to the Finals without the Brow, he would be facing either the Bucks, 76ers, or the big three of the Brooklyn Nets.

Thankfully for Lakers fans, there has been no indication that Davis will miss the rest of the postseason. However, if LeBron James managed to pull all of this off, it would be egregious not to anoint him as the greatest player to ever do it.
